  • Flying Colours Corp awarded contract for specialized modification of seven Bombardier CRJ700 NextGen aircraft


    Flying Colours Corp., the completions, refurbishment and maintenance specialist, announced today that Bombardier has awarded the Canadian-based aviation business an exclusive contract to undertake the interior modification of seven CRJ700* NextGen* aircraft. The fleet will be completed over a two-year period and delivered to an undisclosed Chinese client.

    The aircraft will be completed for specific mission purposes with a particular emphasis on VIP modifications. The project will require new supplemental type certificates (STCs) to be sourced by Flying Colours Corp., and final certification will be completed in conjunction with the Chinese Civil Aviation Authority, with whom Flying Colours already has a strong relationship.

    The first aircraft is scheduled to arrive at the Flying Colours Corp. Peterborough, ON facility in the fourth quarter of this year, and it is anticipated that the final aircraft will be delivered in the first quarter of 2015. The modification of a CRJ700 NextGen aircraft will be a first for Flying Colours Corp. and builds on the extensive experience of its ExecLiner programme, which has seen more than 12 CRJ200* regional airliners converted to executive VIP configurations.

    Flying Colours Corp. is already a Preferred Completion Centre for Challenger* aircraft and 2013 will see five green Challenger 850* jets undergo completion work at its Canadian facility. This latest deal sees a strengthening of the relationship between the two Canadian based businesses as Flying Colours Corp. broadens the number of Bombardier aircraft divisions it works with.

    Flying Colours Corp., the global aviation services company specialising in business aircraft maintenance, completions and refurbishments, has delivered the latest of its Challenger 300 aircraft projects to German air charter operator, FairJets GmbH. Maintenance work on the aircraft began in September 2012 and included a full 96-month heavy maintenance inspection. In addition the aircraft was given a full make over including new exterior paint & interior refurbishment. The project was jointly completed in part at both of by Flying Colours Corp. in Peterborough, Ontario and sister company JetCorp Tech in St Louis Missouri. two locations in North America. The aircraft has already re-entered the FairJjets’ fleet and is and is one of the many aircraft available for charter flights via the German operator.

    This project marks the second aircraft that Flying Colours Corp have worked on for Fairjets. Previous activity included saw a new exterior paint work on one of the German operator’s other managed aircraft, which was completed in February 2012. Flying Colours Corp. has developed an excellent working relationship with FairJets who are impressed by the company’s outstanding customer service and the ability to meet a multitude of refurbishment and maintenance needs under the care of one convenient and cost effective organisation.  Flying Colours Corp. is currently working with FairJets to explore a number of future projects.

Buoyed by its new ASF status, Flying Colours has seen a significant growth in interest for maintenance and refurbishment work from other European operators, particularly those that travel to the North Americas on a regular basis.

    Flying Colours Corp., the completions, refurbishment and maintenance specialist, announced today that Bombardier* has appointed both its Peterborough, ON, Canada and JetCorp Technical Services, St Louis, Missouri, USA, locations as Authorized Service Facilities (ASF) for Learjet* and Challenger* business jets.

    Flying Colours Corp. is renowned for its new Challenger 850* aircraft completions for which it works directly with Bombardier as an Authorized Completion Centre and it is anticipated the ASF status will serve to further strengthen the relationship between the two companies beyond completions only.

    As part of the Bombardier ASF appointment the Flying Colours workforce, which currently stands at over 350 employees, will benefit from an enhanced on-going training schedule and will maintain a strict set of operating procedures led by the LEAN system which it already adheres to at each facility. Flying Colours Corp. is already equipped to handle a full range of aircraft services beyond just maintenance. Both facilities can support completions, interior refurbishment and modification, interior design, exterior paint, component services, and avionics installation programs on a complete range of aircraft and the ASF approval supports the quality of the work in this area.

    JetCorp Technical Services Inc., the US-based operation of Canada’s Flying Colours Corp., has begun maintenance work on its 35th Challenger 300 aircraft. Maintenance work on the aircraft began in September and will include a full 96 month inspection, interior refurbishment, and new exterior paint.

    Uniquely JetCorp’s MRO business stays open 24 hours seven days a week running three shifts on the maintenance, repair and overhaul activity. This has been integral in supporting the reputation it has gained for expertise in working on the Challenger 300 fleet with over 1300 workorders opened over the last 5 years on the Challenger 300 aircraft.

    During this time JetCorp has completed four of the intensive 96 month inspections which entail an exhaustive and comprehensive review of the entire aircraft. These in-depth types of inspection are carried out by Jetcorp’s factory trained technicans and have helped make it one of the most respected and experienced global service providers for the Challenger 300. In conjunction with these major inspections Jetcorp has also positioned itself as a Bombardier authorized airframe and interior Warranty provider for the Challenger 300 ensuring all customer requests can be carried out at one convenient location.

    In 2011 JetCorp completed a Supplemental Type Certificate to install and implement WiFi on the Challenger 300 so complementing similar STCs it holds for Wi-Fi implementations across a range of Bombardier aircraft types including the Challenger 604, Challenger 605, Challenger 300 and Learjet 60.   • JetCorp Technical Services Flies into Indonesia with first CRJ ExecLiner conversion for the region


    JetCorp Technical Services, Inc. a subsidiary of Flying Colours Corp., has begun work on the latest in its series of state-of-the-art executive conversions of the Bombardier CRJ 200 regional airliner. The Bombardier CRJ will be transformed into an ExecLiner executive VIP configuration destined for a private Indonesian client. This is the first ExecLiner to be readied for Indonesia and during the conversion process Flying Colours will work closely with the client and Bombardier to achieve Indonesian type certification for the CRJ200. Flying Colours will supply an FAA STC that will subsequently be validated by the Indonesian regulatory body and the aircraft will be exported to Indonesia upon completion.

    The highly specified aircraft will be transformed from its high-density regional jet layout to a luxuriously appointed executive jet featuring a 22 seat configuration, which represents additional seating compared with other previously completed ExecLiners. It is planned for the interior to be tastefully decorated in traditional yet elegant colour selections and will include a reconfigured galley and first class lavatory.

    In addition to an extensive pre-purchase evaluation, and the interior conversion, Jetcorp will also be carrying out an extensive maintenance package on the aircraft at its full spectrum MRO facility. Maintenance work will include a landing gear overhaul, a 96-month inspection, the conversion from a high utilisation maintenance programme (HUMP) to a low maintenance programme (LUMP) and the incorporation of all outstanding Airworthiness Directives.

    The completion of the interior including the construction of all new monuments, soft goods, woodwork, avionics upgrades, and installation of all items will be completed at Jetcorp with exterior paint work and final sign off to be completed at Flying Colours’ Peterborough, Ontario facility. The collaboration on the project will highlight the extensive capabilities of both locations and again reinforce the ability of its two locations to collectively deliver a high quality product to its worldwide customer base. This latest conversion will be carried out at the St Louis, Missouri based facility, and is due for completion in early 2013. It is the fourth ExecLiner that JetCorp has undertaken, and twelfth that Flying Colours Corp. as a whole has converted.

    This latest project, the first for an Indonesian private client represents a move into a key new market for Flying Colours Corp: “We have met with multiple potential private customers in Southeast Asia in recent months. The interest in our services in this region has increased dramatically and we are receiving a growing number of requests from the Indonesian area particularly,” said Eric Gillespie, Flying Colours Corp. The latest project follows hard on the heels of Flying Colours delivery of three new Bombardier Challenger 850 aircraft completions to mainland China and Hong Kong this year.

    It is with great sadness that Flying Colours has to inform you of the sudden passing of a dear friend and colleague, Paul J. Heaver, Vice President Completions & Modifications of their USA subsidiary JetCorp Technical Services. Paul passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 20, 2012.

    “Our thoughts, prayers, and support are with Paul’s wife, Jacqueline and daughters Paris and Alicia. Paul’s limitless passion for our industry and his tireless commitment to his profession will leave a lasting impression on all of us. His contributions, kindness, sense of humor, and professionalism will be deeply missed,” said Flying Colours President and CEO John Gillespie.

    Over the past few years Flying Colours and its US subsidiary Jetcorp have grown dramatically. Paul made a significant contribution to that growth. He joined Flying Colours in 2007 as Director of Business Development and was promoted to VP of Completions at JetCorp 18 months ago. He has been a stalwart in the industry for over 25 years, working with the likes of de Havilland and Bombardier prior to joining Flying Colours.

    “Paul was hugely instrumental in the success of our Bombardier CRJ conversion program and took a prominent role in our green Challenger 850 completions. Furthermore, under his leadership the completions arm of JetCorp has developed into a sizeable and highly reputable organization. This is his legacy,” added John Gillespie.

  • JetCorp continues to keep customers connected in the air with addition of a Learjet 60 wifi STC.

    JetCorp Technical Services Inc., a subsidiary of Canadian-based Flying Colours Corp., has increased the breadth of its connectivity offering following the completion of a Supplemental Type Certificate for the Aircell® Cabin Telecommunications Router (CTR) on a Learjet 60. Installation and certification of the Aircell CTR provides in-cabin Wi-Fi capability for Aircell’s Continental America focused Gogo Biz™ Inflight internet service. The system can be used on lap tops, tablets, and even smart phones enabling passengers to surf the internet, retrieve and answer email with attachments, and access their corporate VPN. Following hard on the heels of the first installation resulting in the STC, a second Learjet 60 has had the Aircell CTR installed and a further five Learjet 60s are in the pipeline.

    JetCorp has become increasingly specialized in connectivity installation and since early 2011; the dedicated avionics installation team has completed nearly 40 Wi-Fi implementations across a range of Bombardier aircraft types including the Challenger 604, Challenger 605, Challenger 300 and Learjet 60.

JETCORP RECEIVES CL 300 WIFI STC FOR AIRCELL GOGO BIZ INTERNET

  • JetCorp Technical Services Inc., a Flying Colours Company is pleased to announce that it recently completed a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Aircell® Cabin Telecommunications Router (CTR) on a Challenger 300. Installation and certification of the Aircell CTR provides in-cabin Wi-Fi capability for Gogo Biz™ Inflight Internet service.

    Aircell’s Gogo Biz service allows passengers to use their BlackBerry, iPhone and other Wi-Fi enabled devices to surf the Internet, retrieve and answer email with attachments, and access their corporate VPN. While in flight, passengers will enjoy connectivity speeds equivalent to ground-based hotspots.

    Based in St. Louis, MO, at Spirit of St. Louis Airport (KSUS), JetCorp boasts full maintenance, avionics and interior capabilities and has seen a tremendous increase in requests for high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity from clients. Since late 2010, the highly trained avionics installation team at JetCorp has completed over 35 Wi-Fi installations in multiple aircraft types including the Challenger 604, Challenger 605, Challenger 300 and Learjet 60. Flying Colours awarded Preferred Completion Centre status by LIST

  • Geneva, Switzerland - Flying Colours Corp., a global aviation service company based in Canada and LIST components and furniture GmbH of Austria are celebrating a newly-ratified partnership agreement at EBACE, Europe’s premier business aviation show.

    LIST has appointed Flying Colours as its preferred completion center in North America to carry out installations of its unique stone flooring products. This formal endorsement follows hard on the heels of its recent installation of a stone floor aboard a Bombardier Global 5000 Business Jet.   • Flying Colours brings its expertise to Asia – five newly completed Challenger 850s headed East

    Hong Kong, March 25, 2011

    Flying Colours Corp, a global aviation service company, is visiting Asian Aerospace at WorldExpo-Asia in Hong Kong this week, hard on the heels of a successful delivery of a Challenger 850 to the Asian region. The North American based company is getting ready to deliver its second Bombardier Challenger 850 into the region by the end of March. This luxuriously equipped aircraft, acquired by a private Chinese individual, will be delivered to mainland China.

    Its first completed 14-seat executive configured Challenger 850, delivered green to Flying Colours in May 2010 was handed over to the customer at the end of this past year. (See photo attached) It is being managed and operated by Hong Kong based private jet company Metrojet. The aircraft features a premium digital cabin management system, including custom touch screen cabin controls and large cabin LCD displays. Flying Colours also installed a True North Global broadband system, enabling clients to enjoy high-speed connectivity inflight.

Flying Colours Corp. Delivers First Challenger 850 to China

    Flying Colours Corp., a global aviation services company with concentration in completions and maintenance recently delivered their first Bombardier Challenger 850 to China for a Hong Kong based client. The new aircraft arrived at Flying Colours Canadian based facility in the late 2nd quarter of 2010 and was delivered to the customer prior to year end. The aircraft will be operated and managed by Hong Kong based, Metrojet.

    The 14 seat executive aircraft was elegantly designed and finished throughout, highlighted by the installation of a dual vacuum waste system based on the Global Express design and function. The cabin also consisted of a premium digital cabin management system including custom touch screen cabin controls and large cabin LCD displays. Flying Colours also installed a True North Global Broadband system allowing the customer to have true high-speed wifi capability while in flight.

    This is the first of five new Challenger 850 aircraft Flying Colours is completing for Chinese based customers. Jetcorp Technical Services Sees Surge in Maintenance Business

Flying Colours Delivers First Green Challenger 850

    Flying Colours Corp., a global leader in aircraft completions and maintenance recently delivered their first Green Challenger 850, SN: 8092 to an international client.

    The completed aircraft recently departed Flying Colours main facility in Peterborough destined for Moscow, Russia where it will be operated and managed by Chartright Air Group.

    Manufacturing and installation of the executive interior were completed at their Peterborough, Ontario facility. Flying Colours was assisted on the project from an engineering standpoint by Montreal based Berletex Aero Design.

    Flying Colours currently has three (3) additional Green Challenger 850 completions in progress plus two further completions scheduled for arrival in 2010. The completions are taking place at both their main facility in Peterborough and at there US based operation, JetCorp Technical Services.
